This Week's Chicago Deal Sheet

Chicago, the country's second-largest industrial market, is still awash with activity as we head into Q2. The latest transaction of note comes from Clear Height, which purchased 2000 Bloomingdale Rd, a 105k SF industrial property in Glendale Heights.

Inland Real Estate Acquisitions purchased Miramont Apartments (shown), a 15-building, 210-unit complex at 4900 E Boardwalk Dr, and Pinecone Apartments, a 13-building, 195-unit apartment development at 2212 Vermont Dr. Both properties were 97% leased at the time of acquisition. Inland Real Estate Acquisitions SVP Matthew Tice facilitated on behalf of an Inland affiliate.

Podolsky|Circle CORFAC International completed the following transactions:

  • Alissa Adler and John Homsher repped the seller of 412 N Northwest Hwy, a 13k SF mixed-use, multi-tenant building in Barrington. The property sold for $600k.
  • Alissa Adler and John Homsher repped the seller of 509 Old Northwest Hwy (pictured), a 12k SF, multi-tenant office building. The building sold for $475k.
  • Steven Podolsky repped seller Karfam Co in the $1.2M sale of 3330 N Shadeland Ave, a 24k SF industrial property in Indianapolis. The buyer, CM Properties, was repped by CBRE’s Jared Scaringe.

Darwin Realty promoted Jeff Provenza to VP. Jeff is active in the O’Hare and West Cook industrial markets and completed 780k SF in transactions last year, totaling more than $27M.

KUDOS

The Habitat Co added more than 5,000 units to its national management portfolio after securing assignments for 12 rental properties in Birningham, AL, and Tampa, FL, since last November. The assignments expand Habitat’s national management portfolio to more than 25,000 residences, the highest number in the company’s 45-year history.
