General Electric’s futuristic Fort Point headquarters could arrive a year later than initially expected.

A cooperation agreement last month between the Boston Planning & Development Agency and GE reveals the project will be finished by the end of Q2 2019. The relocated headquarters was originally expected to be occupied by June 2018, the Boston Business Journal reports

Company officials maintain the project is still on schedule.

“We are moving forward on an aggressive schedule and look forward to moving into our new HQ campus in 2018-2019. This schedule is entirely consistent with what we anticipated given the size and complexity of this project,” GE spokesperson Jeff Caywood said.

GE has been busy this year preparing for construction. Last month, the company purchased an additional 6,800 SF of land from neighbor Procter & Gamble for $1.5M. The relocated company’s 2.7-acre campus will include renovated warehouses that once housed New England Confectionary Co. Caywood said GE began work on the brick NECCO buildings earlier this year. GE’s original project notification form to the BPDA anticipated rehabilitation of those buildings commencing by Q4 2016.
