Transom RE Plans Residential Tower For Stuart Street

Placeholder

Transom Real Estate unveiled plans to develop a residential building on Stuart Street on the edge of Back Bay. The 19-story project would include 131 housing units and 3k SF of ground-floor retail. Two development proposals had previously been approved for the site: a residential building at 212 Stuart St by Ceres-MHP Development; and a mixed-use building at 212-222 Stuart St by Rena LLC, the Boston Business Journal reports. Neither project dating from the 2000s came to fruition.

The site comprises four parcels at 212-222 Stuart St and 17-19 Shawmut St, near the Revere Hotel Boston Common and the Motor Mart Garage. The parking attendant office for the Motor Mart Garage is on-site. Locally based Transom’s proposal doesn't include on-site parking, but the developers said they have a long-term agreement for parking at the Motor Mart Garage.

The project’s executive and landscape architect is Sasaki Associates, while Howeler + Yoon Architecture is the design architect. If all goes according to plan, the project will start in Q4 2017 and finish in mid-2019. [BBJ]
