Weekend Warriors

Under 35 list resumes tomorrow after this report on weekend parties.

Saturday night:
What:  DC Chamber of Commerce’s 3rd Annual Monte Carlo Night, at
Almas Temple
Spotted:  Vincent Gray, Jack Evans, Kwame Brown, Neil Alpert
Entertainment:  Blackjack, Craps, Stanley Rouse Quartet jazz and pop

These ex-Redskins still know how to play—cards! Brig Owens (safety ’66-’77, and now in real estate) motions for payoff from dealer George Starke (offensive line ’73-’84). Owens' wife Patty, and Cardinal Bank DC president Kate Carr wonder if George needs help counting.

Clark Construction’s Matt Haas, Jennifer Noah, and Sarosh Olpadwala. Matt’s in charge of the baseball stadium project and tells us they’ve just finished the structural steel on the press box and next week start framing the home team dugout. These guys work fast!

Dressed to the (lucky) nines: Councilwoman Mary Cheh and DC Chamber president and host Barbara Lang.

Friday night:
What:  African American Real Estate Professional’s 4th Annual Awards Gala, at Four Seasons
Spotted:  Deputy Mayor Neil Alpert, Corporate Office Properties Trust president Dwight Taylor, Holland & Knight managing partner LaFonte Nesbitt
Entertainment:  Just-in-Time jazz band

Peterson Companies’ Bridgette Graves, Chase Real Estate Solutions’ Bridgette Chase, and OPX’s Caryn Bailey and Steve Polo.

Akridge’s Dodd Walker and Tompkins Builders’ Nadiyah Vass and James Tolbert.

Kane Construction’s Tony Brannon and Akridge’s David Toney. Kane has just been awarded the buildout for its fourth Bank of Georgetown branch at 1101 Conn Ave.
