Bisnow on Business

Land America

We’re not publishing this week, do you miss us?
But we wanted to
put out this notice:

Date of Bisnow Terribly Hip Happy Hour hereby changed to Thursday, September 6—previous date conflicted with Rosh Hashanah. Our apologies, we need to learn to read a calendar. This'll be the first week back after Labor Day, so the perfect launch of the fall party season! Please join us for that patented Bisnow schmooze.

We got tons of RSVPs from the first notice, and we’re going to assume all of you can still make it—unless we hear from you.

And here’s another change. The whole thing will be free, including drinks, hosted on the breathtaking rooftop of Akridge’s hot new Carroll Square, at 975 F Street. (We'd hold it at 700 6th Street, where 200k sf is available for lease—but that newest Akridge building won't deliver till early '09.) This party's gonna be great!

Only requirement is, you do have to be in commercial real estate to attend. But while our party is aimed at the young and hip, that is a state of mind, not a chronological age.

As long as we’re making corrections, we might as well get them all out!  So two other things:

1. That was no “mystery brunette” talking to CBRE’s Mike Fox in Friday’s issue…but his CB colleague, VP and senior broker Tina Weaver. Sorry, we’ve been reading too much Perez Hilton.

2. The other day we said our friends at HarVest Bank of Maryland have a presence from Bethesda to Rockville to Gaithersburg. While they do cover that area, in fact their footprint is much bigger, covering the whole 270 corridor up to Germantown and down to Silver Spring. As a local bank, they reinvest their deposits in businesses and families here in our community.
