| | | | | January 14, 2010 | | | | ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED | | Where Do Women Stand? We've assembled five of Washington's most powerful women to talk about how their gender is doing in the executive workplace. In November, this event sold out when signups reached room capacity of 450. Don't miss your chance. Sequoia Restaurant, Friday, Jan 22. Sign up now! | | | We thought we'd had big crowds before, but this was a record. 1,100guests is our estimate for our Schmoozarama last night. (The club thinks it was more like 1,300—yes, we should have better accounting systems.) We hope by now most of you have found your way back to work. | | | When we opened the doors at 6pm there were already 150 of you in line down the block. We're sorry about the wait in the cold weather—but isn't that a good strategy to build crowd excitement? | | | We snapped WDG Architecture’s John Lowe, Davis Construction’s Jim Davis, Barton Partners’ Justin Martino, and Monument Realty’s Mike Darby. Mike went snow kiting over the holiday break (where you use a kite to glide over the snow on a board—Mike is not just a real estate daredevil.) | | | JLL’s Barbara Gloeckner and Kathy Allgier. Kathy, who heads up JLL’s regional property management, tells us it expanded from 18M SF to 23M SF in ’09. | | | Developer Douglas Jemal with Board of Trade chairman (and McGuire Woods lawyer) Jim Dyke. | | | We think Park owner Marc Barnes, second from right, has the classiest club around, and we were proud to hold our event there. And speaking of classy, we love our sponsor Cardinal Bank, whose president, Kevin Reynolds, left, provided those snazzy red parting gift tote bags you can all now use to be green at the grocery store. | | | Lincoln Property’s Donald Bowers, Penzance’s Kevin Spurlock, Rand’s Howard Chapman, and Fox Architects’ Bob Fox. Donald and Howard worked together on 101 Constitution and bumped into each other for the first time in five years last night. | | | DPR Construction’s Stephen Skinner and Terry Edmondson, Monument Realty’s Natasha Stancill and Pamela Zandy, and NCF Floors’ Angela Fowler. Falls Church-based DPR worked on Kaiser Permanente’s 22k SF medical office building in Frederick, designed by SmithGroup. Aside from Monument’s work on Potomac Place Tower at 800 4th St. SW, Pamela and Angela are busy planning a bachelorette party before Natasha’s May wedding. | | | Ewing Cole’s Petra Horna, First Potomac Realty’s Tim Zulick, and Cushman & Wakefield’s Christina Davies. First Potomac bought a business park in Ashburn this month from MRP Realty for $14M. Three buildings make up the 194k SF Corporate Campus at Ashburn Center, which has been partially built out as a data center, attracting tenants such as Odin Technologies, MCW Solutions, and PullThePlug Technologies. | | | Held Enloe & Associates Josh Haave, OVCA Mediation’s Jodi Ovca, Held Enloe & Associates’ Lisa Enloe and David Held, and IFC’s Huguette Mbella. Lisa and Jonathan Held formed their firm, which provides construction consulting services, five years ago. One recent project: scheduling consultant for the 1.6M SF, $600M Constitution Square One. Lisa spent years on job sites for Clark Construction, where she held virtually every project field position, completing over $1.5B in successful projects. | | Send story ideas to editorial@bisnow.com Want you event listed at the bottom of our e-mails?
