Big shout-out to BANNER ASSOCIATES, a leading full-service recruitment firm specializing in all Commercial Real Estate professionals. Their business model: NO Exclusive, NO Retainers, 100% NO Hassle Money Back Guarantees.

Last night, with our NCAA tournament brackets already in shambles, we headed to The Dubliner on Capitol Hill for NAIOP of DC and Maryland's REEL March Madness party to drown our sorrows; over 100 were crammed around the bar. REEL stands for real estate emerging leaders, and knowing the requirements of high office they are emerging partiers as well.

The shy crowd, from back left, Skanska's Brennan McReynolds, Studley's Olivia Millar, Forrester's Frank Pinto and Rebecca Dickerson, PNC's Ben Adams, Jamie Weinbaum. Front row: Forrester's Hallie Sherard, Interior Architects' Mary Catherine Williams, and Bank of America's Ed Burnett.

We learned some bracket tips from Peter Clark and Andrew Cecere of Davis. Clark, a Philly native, says he always picks hometown schools to win even if they aren't favored. After 12th-seeded Temple lost to 5th seeded Michigan State yesterday, he may be regretting that strategy.

We've reported on Monday Properties' 1812 N. Moore and JBG's Central Place, but the gentrification of a once-utilitarian Rosslyn keeps progressing. We met with Turnberry's Eastern US sales chief, Jim Cohen, to see their 26-floor luxury condo tower going in at 1850 North Fort Myer Drive.

Jim, up from Turnberry's Miami HQ, shows off the LEED-certified tower rising in the place of the old Arlington Best Western. He says every four days they complete another floor, so at this rate they'll top out by this summer and deliver the summer of '09. Of the 247 units ranging from $800k-over $5M, he tells us they've sold more than 50%. Jim says they focus on down-sizers not willing to give up their Sub-Zeros.

Turnberry, a 40-year-old, privately-held developer, has 200 employees nationwide. They have projects scattered all over the States (like the $650M Turnberry Place overlooking the Vegas Strip). Jim flies up to DC every couple weeks on his TBM-700 single engine turboprop plane which gets him here in 3 hours 20 min.

What a great job our friends at K3 did with WTOP Radio's new state-of-the-art $2.5M newsroom! Now we can keep getting that traffic and weather on the 8's. K3's Kathy McCormick, WTOP's Dave Garner, K3's Jeff Martello, Burt Hill's Damon Sheppard, and K3's Shane Demer celebrate the debut of what they tell us is the largest newsroom in the country. This is one of several projects K3's done for WTOP over the years-including their lobby, administrative offices, and multiple studios.
