Congrats to our friends at sponsor Skanska for completion of 4500 seat Regency Furniture Stadium in La Plata, Md., five weeks ahead of schedule! It's the official home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball team, built in cooperation with team owners Brooks Robinson and Charles County, Md. Congrats!

Yesterday we braved rainy day traffic to visit Cushman & Wakefield all-star Drew White at his Tysons office. The multi-family sales guru (he was top broker for all of Cushman in the mid-Atlantic in 2007) had a little news for us: The Kenmore, an Archstone/Tishman-owned 369-unit property on Connecticut Ave near Chevy Chase, just came to market yesterday and is now the largest multi-family building for sale in the District.

For the record, Drew was a little embarrassed about our pointing out he's the top broker: "There's a lot of great hard working people here who really deserve the credit for Cushman's success," he insisted. A 15-year-industry vet, he started Cushman's multi-family practice six years ago after coming up from the Atlanta office. Since then, he and partner Mike Marshall have sold billions of dollars of apartment complexes in 10 different states; for example, last year they sold the Lodge at Seven Oaks in Odenton and Prestwick in Falls Church. They're currently selling properties like the Towers at University Town Center, a 910-bed student housing project at the Univ. of Maryland; the 300-unit 1901 West Street luxury apartment complex in Annapolis; and properties in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Norfolk. How's the market? Drew says there's "more on the market, but not as many transactions" because deals are tougher to finance and equity is picky. However, that should change by summer when "we'll see a lot of equity torn loose and committed to invest in a big way."  (At left, the Kenmore.)

The Baltimore native shows us an Erg machine (for all you non-rowers, that's what crew teams practice with when they're not on the water), which stands like a piece of art in his office. Drew rowed in his college days at the University of Mary Washington, and despite its looking like a form of medieval torture, still occasionally likes to give the Water Rower (that's the brand name) a whirl.

Even though he should have been tired after running the GW Parkway 10 miler this weekend, we persuaded him to show us how the Erg looks when rowed in full broker regalia. The father of three (2, 4, and 7) is also busy traveling; this weekend he's headed to the Wachovia golf championship in Charlotte, and for Mother's Day is bringing the whole family to the Greenbriar

We're starting the countdown to our great 35 Under 35 honors (just like the Kennedy Center Honors, only better).

Feel free to nominate your colleagues, your friends, or yourselves.  Do not stand on ceremony. This is not the time for false modesty. Let us know what accomplishments in commercial real estate over the last 12 months show that they, or you, are an up-and-comer, or perhaps an already-arrived. The world wants to know.

Last year we had an amazing group of honorees, and a great rooftop party at Pillsbury under perfect weather. We're planning the same thing, same place, and same weather this year on June 3, so mark your calendars.

We'll be profiling all the winners, each of whom will receive either a 2009 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish or a paper certificate, at our discretion. Thanks again to our wonderful sponsors Pillsbury, Skanska, Reznick, WorkSpaces, and Sibdu/eCRE Systems. Nominate here.
