Weekend Roundup

So many parties, so little time!  Why did we think we were going to relax the rest of January after the Inauguration? The Scene Bisnow partied all weekend.

Although you can’t tell in this picture, most of the guests were watching the Super Bowl at Dupont Circle’s Hudson restaurant last night. The party raised money for EarthEcho, founded by Philippe Cousteau, right. With him are his co-hosts, Baltimore Oriole’s Chris Gale and Victoria Michael of Victoria Michael P R; and to his right, Washington Life’s Lana Orloff.

Cheering hard were Quintessentially’s Jaclyn Gower and Styleauteur’s Jess Bacca.

Miles Midnight

Billy Gladding, of the band Miles Midnight, with Clark Consulting’s Carissa Maguire and PR gal Katherine Kennedy, who took a minute off from her duties as guest bartender; she was raising money for Washington Humane Society’s Fashion for Paws. The band played their song, Try Me, which will premiere on the reality TV show, Blonde Charity Mafia.

Also at Georgetown’s Smith Point on Saturday night were CBIZ’s Garrett Wells, Booz Allen’s Tracy Hacker and Wealth Engine’s Elizabeth Schiffmann.

First Chukker

The City Tavern Club was the scene on Saturday night for a Winter Polo Affair. Here, Ralph Lauren’s Hollis Bradley Pica, ING Real Estate’s Randall Casper, Intermix’s Tracy Long and KLNB’s Jack DeVilliers. Tracy moved here from New York City in December; we’re glad she makes friends easily.

The First Chukker Foundation promotes positive social change and an appreciation of polo. We hope Marriott’s Ann Lafontaine, Premier Properties’ Carl Becker and the Aerospace Corporation’s Shana Schwartz, who joined First Chukker to raise money for DC Central Kitchen, learned enough about the sport to know what a chukker is.

Computer Science Corporation’s Lauren Elizabeth Kieler and First Chukker polo player Ray Regan.

Looks like this season’s color is blue. On Thursday night we stopped by Gin & Tonic to join The Madisons, a non-profit women’s group. Here, two of the many new members, Mallory Caudle and Heather Downen, celebrate with Brad Nierenberg, CEO of RedPeg Marketing, and The Madisons president, patent examiner Megann Vaughn.

NBC’s Luke Russert doesn’t mind sharing the crowded Glover Park tavern with two stars of Blonde Charity Mafia, Nicole Modica, and Krista Johnson, who’s also a partner in the Georgetown Boutique We One You Two. Proceeds went to the Madisons’ 2009 charity: Community Lodgings.

We stopped by the about-to-open, soon to be the hottest restaurant in Northern Virginia. Started by the superstar chefs from 2941 restaurant, Jonathon Krinn (left) and Jon Mathieson (second from right), here with their sous chefs, Scott Muns and Nick Palermo and wine director John Wabeck, Inox will open next week at 1800 Tysons Blvd. They tell us it will be upscale but relaxed, better than a bistro, but still fun-and with free WiFi, if you want to hang out in the afternoons. We can’t wait.
