Reveling in
Repeal Day

For your chance to receive a complimentary pass to the special advanced screening of YES MAN in Washington, DC on Thursday, December 18, log on to www.gofobo.com/rsvp and input the following code: BISNOW0476 to download your ticket.

This year, Repeal Day celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the end of Prohibition as DC’s finest got decked out in Roaring 20s clothes and partied at the City Tavern Club

DC blogger Chandler Ramelli was one of the co-hosts of the Repeal Day Ball, seen with the Ball’s organizer, Derek Brown, and Megan Ann Harmon from the Corcoran. Derek formerly served up tasty cocktails at Hummingbird to Mars (a classic speakeasy), and now is at The Gibson (2009 14th St.) which opened a few weeks ago.

Choose Your Shoes

DC socialite Kate Michael (right) hosted a snazzy event at Bethesda’s Jimmy Choo store Monday night. The best and highest-heeled ladies of DC sampled the latest from Jimmy Choo’s collection, snagged some bargains, and got a preview of Inauguration wear.  Kate may have been tired from competing in Miss DC on Sunday night, but she still looked great, here with the always smiling Pam Sorensen (left) from Pamela’s Punch.  (Psst: Jimmy Choo manager Nicole Curry let us in on a secret: on January 15th there will be a special Inauguration sale with 10% off the newest spring collection!)

Ed Chin and CC Christakos talked over champagne at the event. CC works for OPM, when she’s not busy with the Junior League of Washington. The Junior League is always active in the community, whether working to improve literacy, hosting an event for Children’s Hospital or helping children with AIDS. You can take advantage of some great deals with their annual Tossed and Found shopping events. From designer suits to cars and boats, there’s something for everyone – and a great cause!

“Single Ladies”
Beyonce might have the number one song right now, but we found the number one place to spot the single ladies of DC! We recently stopped by K Street Lounge for their Singles Party and spotted some of the hottest unattached young professionals mixing it up in the nightlife Scene.

Med student Michelle Trevino, international journalist Vanessa Miranda and global development student Vanessa Fontana mingled and danced the night away on the dance floor and also showcased their dance skills on the couches. (Please don’t attempt at home!)

K Street Lounge proprietors, Ki Jun Sung (center) and Bobby Palladino, with Ki Jun’s girlfriend, executive recruiting guru Trang Thung. As one of the original lounges of the K St. Corridor’s club scene, K Street Lounge has long been a fixture for the party crowd of all types -- from lobbyists, lawyers and politicos to jet-setters. As Ki Jun, a former lawyer, explains, the lounge had to adapt with the influx of other club powerhouses such as Park at Fourteenth and Lima, but with its sleek and modern vibe, it remains a hot venue.

Madeline McCaul, Web Content Manager with John Snow Inc. and Atif Siddiqui,  Development Coordinator for Share Our Strength taking a break from the world of non-profits to do some possible profitable prospecting. (Try saying that fast 3 times!)  Just remember, you’ll get cold if you take a break, so take Rihanna’s advice and please don’t stop the music!

Thursday, December 11th stop by an exclusive shopping event sponsored by DC Magazine. Tommy Hilfiger in Georgetown (3229 M St) will feature a DJ, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and models. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Wolf Trap Foundation’s arts-in-education programs, including the Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts. RSVP at rsvpdc@modernluxury.com.

Friday, December 12th join Hot 99.5 at the Clarendon Ballroom (3185 Wilson Blvd. Arlington) for their Little Black Dress party. The party is made just a little bit hotter with the appearance of Gavin Rossdale. The last party brought out celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

Sunday, December 14th bring your favorite pup to the Haute Holidays for the Hounds event sponsored by the Washington Humane Society. A $15 donation pampers your pooch with gourmet doggie treats and a holiday photo. From 2 PM to 5 PM at Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase (5300 Western Ave).

Friday, December 19th Get your Tix early for Local Musician Ted Garber Debuts at 9:30 Club! Check out local songwriter/musician Ted Garber for an all original set.  $12 cover. For more info check out tedgarber.com  or 930.com.
Any night – Enjoy the most talked about new happy hour spot - Vapiano 1800 M Street! Lounge on the red couches and have a Peroni or a gourmet pizza pie at incredible prices. This is definitely the scene for young professionals to unwind after a long day of the usual - like international relations disputes.
