Ralph Fiennes!

Are we going to see you all at the best party of the season this Wednesday evening, 6-8 PM? We're talking about our own Bisnow Total Schmoozarama, at the Park at Fourteenth. Open Bar and buffet, crazy low price. Sign up now!

Critically acclaimed actor Ralph Fiennes drew a crowd on Saturday night at the Holocaust Museum.

Fiennes has been widely praised for raising public awareness of the Holocaust through his portrayal of characters in award-winning films Schindler’s List and Sunshine.

He was interviewed by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward on the Power of Film and the Holocaust.

International Club!

DC’s International Club had a belated New Year’s Soiree on Friday night for members and guests, who danced at the Embassy of France. Among them: French-American Foundation’s Caroline Godwin, International Club prez Sanjaya Hettihewa, Virginia Tech grad student Kristen Wade, APA’s Francesca Morfesis, and NRECA’s P.J. Barbour.

Penn Foundation’s Roby Penn, ASCD’s Jennifer Barrett, Raffa’s Sunanda Patel, Georgetown Nursing’s Meredith Kelly, and ASD’s Ryan Waits.

IC member Jennifer Santana (second from right) is surrounded by the three Bezuneh sisters, who showed off their moves on the dance floor: MD Dept of Health’s Meseret, UN’s Mulu, and NVEG’s Meleekt.

DanceSport Endurance prez Todd Borzych and fellow instructor Rasa Kasetiene led the 200 party-goers in salsa and waltz lessons.

Jockey Club!

We sat down with The Jockey Club’s new culinary star Executive Chef Levi Mezick and manager (formerly from the Blue Duck Tavern) William Washington. The renowned Fairfax Hotel restaurant used to be the top power dining spot in DC—Nancy Reagan loved to lunch there—and wants to be again, with a recently updated decor and menu. Levi, who returned to DC after traveling through Europe and working at New York’s Daniel, told us his favorite ingredient is salt!

Chef Mezick puts a fresh twist on simple French cuisine with locally produced ingredients. It’s participating in Restaurant Week this week, so if you thought you couldn’t afford it, now’s the time to try.

Makeda Saggau-Sackey, Courtney Caldwell, and Kristina D'Ambrosio contributed to this issue.
