Last night we headed around the corner from our office at Bisneyland in Dupont Circle for the 27th annual High Heel Race.

15,000 people cheered as hundreds in drag raced four blocks on 17th Street in costumes, wigs, and high heels.

A racer dressed as Paula Deen offered biscuits throughout the race.


America Abroad Media!

We went to Mellon Auditorium for the first America Abroad Media awards dinner and snapped Academy Award winning director Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) with co-host Doug Wilson.

One of the honorees was Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. He's with his wife Kiran Rao; at left, writer and former diplomat Jim Glassman and his wife Beth. The night celebrated the media's power to inform citizens about key policy issues.

Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday joins former CIA director William Webster and his wife Linda, head of the Webster group.


Jewish Foundation for Group Homes!

Last night we went to Strathmore as the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes celebrated its 30th anniversary gala, helping those with disabilities. After a lively cocktail reception, music legends The Jacksons performed. We snapped Potomac Community Resources' Stephen Riley and Abby Lubron flanking Marissa Weeks.

We went to the Art in the Mix Festival at the Monroe Street Market Saturday and snapped The Satorialist, Scott Schuman speaking to the crowd about his blog and photography. There were musical performances, a variety of food trucks, and a pop-up beer garden.
