Mike's Birthday Bash!

Last night we joined the birthday celebration of MicroStrategy's Mike Saylor, here with real estate developer John Mason, at the Four Seasons. Known for one-of-a-kind bashes, the theme was a War on Productivity, with the goal of giving partygoers so much fun they'd be less productive at work today. He may have gotten his wish, since there was an open bar and music by The Winn Brothers Band and Judo Chop until 2:00 AM.

Michael Kosmides, owner of Teatro Goldoni, flanked by Darya Arman, Potomac school teacher, and Jennifer Bortz, sales exec at Elman. They all insisted that, contrary to the theme, they'd be productive today.

Menswear designer Ebong Eka and dentist Wilson Chang show their pearly whites.

We're violating our No More Than One Photo of One Person per Issue Rule since it's Mike's party. Here the birthday boy celebrates with Fox News' Beth Murray, AOL VP Jimmy Lynn, and Portfolio Logic's Winston Lord.

Cars, Cars!

On Tuesday, we got a sneak peek at the '09 GM cars at the Washington Auto Show Preview Party. We were shown the cars by GM's design chief, Ed Welburn. He's the guy who designed the new Presidential limo, Cadillac One, that Obama rode in during the Inauguration.

General Colin Powell with son, former FCC Chair Michael Powell (center), and Ed Welburn.

General Powell is impressed with the futuristic interior of the Cadillac Converj concept car. Unlike the other cars we saw, this won't be on the market any time soon. Too bad.

Yes We Can!

Last night we were also at Lotus Lounge for a Q&A with DC relationship writers on How to Find Love. The panelists: Kerry Reichs, author of The Best Day of Someone Else's Life; Ask Miss A's Andrea Rodgers; contestant from VH1 reality show The Pick-Up Artist, Rian Turner; Jess McCann, author of You Lost Him at Hello; and Cathy Alter, author of Up for Renewal.

Oak Spring Garden Foundation's Stacy Lloyd and Blinded Veterans' Christina Hitchcock came for advice on the DC dating scene. We're not telling what they learned.

Italian contractor Tino Angelo, Ask Miss A's mom Agaat Den Hertog, and architecture grad student Max Boschetti. Tino and Max discovered they both went to Virginia Tech.
