Men Against
Breast Cancer!

Last night we stopped by Men Against Breast Cancer Think Pink & Blue Fashion Awards & Reception to raise awareness of the important role men play when women they love get breast cancer.
We snapped ‘Skins D-lineman Chris Baker, owner Dan Snyder, and his wife breast cancer survivor Tanya, the NFL spokesperson for its A Crucial Catch breast cancer awareness initiative. They’re with Marc Heyison, who founded Men Against Breast Cancer in honor of his mother’s victorious battle with the disease, and his wife Tanya.
NBC4 meteorologist Doug Kammerer took to the runway to show his support for the cause, summarized by Marc Heyison’s quote from Gladiator: “What we do in life, echoes an eternity.”
Men Against Breast Cancer vice chair Robert DeWolfee, Hammer & Nail Exteriors’ Kim Chaikin, and all-time ‘Skins great Brian Mitchell
When Comcast SportsNET’s Chick Hernandez said his wife didn’t want to be called a breast cancer survivor, emcee WUSA 9’s Andrea Roane suggested breast cancer warrior. We snapped her flanked by Ratner chief Ann Ratner and marketing guru Amy Sommerhoff.

Community of Hope!
Community of Hope had a festive reception at Columbia Country Club. Community of Hope, which won this year’s Wash Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, gives healthcare, housing, and support for low-income and homeless DC families.

Great festivities to welcome back the Georgetown harbor, with an opening party at Tony & Joe's and Nick's Riverside Grill. Here, football legend Sonny Jurgensen and restaurateur Tony Cibel.

More than 125 guests, including cancer survivors and doctors, attended to provide short-term financial assistance—especially for military families—with unexpected costs incurred in treatment at GW’s MFA Breast Care Center and Katzen Cancer Center. Here, GW Breast Care’s Dr. Christy Teal, PS Charities’ LuAnn and Mike Dean, and Beth Israel Medical Center’s Dr. Joseph Dayan.
