LAST NIGHT'S
SPORTS PARTY!

Yesterday evening we perched atop the roof of Donovan House hotel at Thomas Circle for the SneakerBall VIP reception. The Greater Washington Sports Alliance hosted the event, attracting gridiron legends like Brian Mitchell, Brig Owens and two-time NBA scoring champ Adrian Dantley. We sent our intrepid reporter and former towel boy to scope out the poolside event. (Yes, that's right, on the roof.) The full-blown SneakerBall is Tuesday.

Storied Redskin kick returner Brian Mitchell, Pricewaterhouse Coopers' Fernando Murias, Hall of Famer Adrian Dantley (DeMatha, Notre Dame, Utah Jazz), Greater Washington Sports Alliance president Bob Sweeney, and Redskin and Cowboy DB Brig Owens celebrate under the stars. We asked to try on Owens and Mitchell's Super Bowl rings, but evidently we didn't look trustworthy.

Washington networking gurus Patti Cumming, Debbie Sigmund, and Sarah Giles brought compliments to the chef (Bice's Exec Chef Nicola Bacchi).

Republican Teddy Roosevelt somehow made it past security. The 26th President of the United States appeared to be drunk.

Event co-host John Germano, marketing multitasker/Wizards dancer Lyndsay Rinard, Jennifer Carter, The Washington Group's Missy Edwards, and Britton Clarke should be careful to conserve their energy for the main event this Tuesday at the National Building Museum.

SUMMER'S END

Everyone's cherishing the last days of warm weather by having fun outside—or at least inside with an outside theme. Hudson Lounge's End of Summer party had a Caribbean feel with steel drums and sangria margarita fusion cocktails. PR mastermind Victoria Michaels (clients like the Four Seasons, Maxim, and the Washington Ballet) teamed up with Hudson, Felix, and Spy Lounge owner Alan Popovsky to hold the event that lasted 'til midnight.

Jim Tierney, who does property development sales for Choice Hotels, school teacher Kristen Emory, and real estate developer Doug Dixon tried the mild air outside.

Mie n Yu's Mike Cherner, guest Alicia Lynn, and realtor and blogger Chandler Ramelli sample appetizers from Exec Chef Ryan Arnold. Oops, by the time we snapped, the food was gone.
