LAST NIGHT
AT PAPER MOON

Big shout-out to Mervis Diamond Importers! Get the diamond of your dreams at their special one-year pricing. Don’t miss the Mervis Diamond Trunk Show this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Click on ad to the right for more details.

Mistletoe & Cocktails and its scantily-clad Santa’s helper invitation come once a year—and last night 500 frolickers happily responded by flooding Paper Moon from 9 PM to 1AM. There was even an end-of-party Kobe Bryant sighting (in town with the Lakers and evidently wandering up from Mate). Party guys Lindsay Stroud and Tripp Donnelly founded the annual tradition, now in its sixth year and with help from buds John Cecchi, Fritz Brogan, and Josh Overbay.

Zeynep Halici, Jennifer Bortz, and (off to the right) someone else in the right spirit.

Washington Capitals defenseman Mike Green (first round choice in ’04) and Sherif Abdalla (creator of club Play) stopped by after the team’s victory over the New York Islanders.

Tripp Donnelly of newly rebranded RepEquity (“online reputation management”) and real estate maven John Cecchi of IDI Group. Hats off, by the way, to Lindsay, who got engaged by in August to fellow G-Town MBAer Shannon Delaney. Lindsay kicked the party off six years ago when he did some “guest bartending” for friends at Martin’s Tavern, and the thing kept growing. They use Paper Moon now because it’s the biggest venue they can find in Georgetown.

Keri Ann Meslar (at one time with the “Skins and Bobcats) and Kristina D’Ambrosio are both graduates of the University of Tennessee.

Midtown Meets War Child

Our Bisnow happy hour at Midtown on Wednesday was also packed, we’d like to point out. 150 came to celebrate a film, Warchild, that opens tonight at E street Cinemas for one week only. Above, director Karim Chrobog, who left yesterday for a film festival award in LA. He travels a lot: born in Singapore, moved to Brussels, then Germany, Dubai, and the US.

Midtown Manager Danilo with hostess Andriana aim to provide the “exquisite experience” they say is the byword at all the chic clubs owned by the Michael Romeo Group (Fur, Tattoo, Lotus as well). Stay tuned for the even more exclusive Midtown Lofts, set to open in ‘09.  They say their secret sauce includes classy cocktail hostesses and décor, friendly doormen, great music, drinks, and atmosphere. They say the beautiful people follow.

LAWYERS HAVE MORE FUN

Could these gals actually be, gasp, attorneys? Kruti Mahta, Stephanie Silverman and Kim Kuhn held a mini-reunion at Midtown after reading about the party in Bisnow Legal. They all used to work together at Venable, although Kim’s now at Orrick.

WHERE TO BE SCENE
