Happy 2010!

Hey, this is your New Year's Resolution speaking. Let's do this thing! Results Gym is here for you. Don't delay. See ad at right.

We welcomed the New Year all over town, including a huge event at the Building Museum, the grand opening of new club DISTRICT, and parties at the City Tavern Club, Park Hyatt, and Rookery. But we started it off at an elegant private party.

At a sit-down dinner for 48 at the home of attorneys Carolyn Lamm and Peter Halle, we snapped Democratic consultant Kandy Stroud and Innocents at Risk founder Debby Sigmund. We love the Christmas colors; now it’s back to basic black.

Long-time NBC-4 News anchor Barbara Harrison, who announced that night she’s planning to stop doing the 5-7 AM news in favor of special projects and in-depth profiles (although she’ll keep doing the 11 AM news); hostess with the most-est ABA prez Carolyn Lamm; US District judge Paul Friedman; and ambassador and Coordinator for Communications/Information Phil Verveer, who’s at the State Dept. with wife Melanne, ambassador for global women’s issues.

Before they dashed out to ring in the New Year at new club DISTRICT, we snapped Austin Bisnow, who’s interning in NYC this month, and former Miss Teen DC Jasmine Niernberger.

District!

About 500 guests rang in 2010 at the grand opening of DISTRICT in Adams Morgan, launching a unique restaurant/bar/nightclub that will be a major hotspot.

Bogart Financial’s James Bogart with the owners of SAKI Asian Grill and DISTRICT, both of which are on 18th Street, Benjamin Dalley and Randy Taylor.

Building Museum!

Over 2000 guests filled the National Building Museum at a huge New Year’s Eve party hosted by Late Night Shots founder Reed Landry and restaurateur Fritz Brogan.

The Chronicle for Higher Education’s Angela Helfrich, Hill staffer Lisa Booth, J. Crew’s Rachel Fulcher, and Lockheed Martin’s Laing Humphries.

SMU’s Ross Martin, Josh Robins, Todd Helman, Mike Taylor, and Ian Lingwood welcomed 2010 together.

Department of Labor’s Casey Foote, Comerica Bank’s Mike Ulliman, and Bull Run Media’s Heather Darazs.

City Tavern Club!

Natalia Pinto, Hill staffer Connie Kemper, Vocus’ Angie Jusino and Discovery Communications’ Meredith Belenske celebrated at Georgetown’s City Tavern Club.

Hogan & Hartson’s Michelle Adams and Sarah Dean.

Park Hyatt!

We also rang in 2010 at the Park Hyatt, and snapped its top brass, Michael Feldman, Ernie Arias, and Vincent DeCrook, flanked by Michael’s mom Janice Feldman and MLE Style’s Emily Nolan.

Amazon.com’s Christopher Phillips with fiancee Herndon High School’s Jenny Goff, little sis of party host WUSA9’s Angie Goff.

Rookery!

We headed down the street to the Rookery to listen to Sick Feed and caught Catalina Cabral and Navy’s Kristen Murdock.

Makeda Saggau-Sackey and Mary Kate Rasa contributed to today’s issue.
