Going to the Dogs

Washington's first snowfall the last couple days didn't stop the Scene from going to parties — and some were for great causes.

Last night we went to the DC Ritz for the Seventh Annual Sugar & Champagne Affair to raise funds for the Washington Humane Society. The event was founded by Ellen Kassoff Gray, co-owner of Equinox restaurant with husband Todd. Above, they show us their two favorite canines.

Transwestern's Robert Osinoff is cool not just because he's posing with beautiful Bisnow rescue dog Jinxie, but because the other day he also met Michelle Obama when she and her mom walked into Equinox for dinner (Michelle's husband came an hour later).

Nera Economic Consulting's Matt Lowe, Washington Humane Society's Tara de Nicholas, L2 Lounge's Rodrigo Garcia

Luke's Wings

On Tuesday we went to Midtown for the Official Fundraising Kick Off for Luke's Wings. Get your mind off your stomach: Fletcher Gill founded the non-profit to help families of hospitalized service members. Here, Army vet Matthew Christian Davis, Managing Director of Global Village Publishing Media, and Katharine Hauschka, owner of Alpine Moon Photography.

Luke's Wings' Sasha Horne and Nicole Siobal tell us the goal of the bash was to bring a family in Denmark to visit a loved one at Walter Reed.

Make Up Galore

We were at the Oval Room on Tuesday night as Heather Freeman PR hosted Shiseido's Spring Preview of their latest in skin care and cosmetics. Above, Sherri Dalphonse, senior editor of Washingtonian, with former Miss DC and Society writer Kate Michael. We think Kate just applied Shiseido's new red lipstick.

We got the grand tour, tried everything, and scored a GREAT goodie bag. Here, Shishedo's Ashley makes up Adrianne Mickens, CEO of Adrianne PR.

NARS Cosmetics' Julia Sloan, Ashley Robb, and Madga Ogbe surround Shiseido's Takafumi Oba. Issey Miyake and John Varvatos products were also showcased.

Blog Party

Last night we stopped by Midtown to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Oh My Goff, a blog by WUSA Traffic Anchor Angie Goff (right), here with scientist Mark Drapeau and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's Chantel Wright.
