Bisnow Valentine party! Friday Feb. 13, from 5 to 9 PM at Lotus Lounge, 1420 K St. Half-priced drinks and free sushi buffet. Only $10, but you must register in advance.

Wisconsin Avenue was the place to be Friday night as beautiful people lined the street, waiting to get into the Russian Embassy for the Washington Ballet’s annual Jeté Society Dance Party. Once inside, ballerinas greeted you, as the normally formal embassy was transformed into a mini-Vegas, with cocktails and gambling.

Sequins! Women wore sparkling dresses and the crowd shimmered. Before grabbing a glass of champagne and hitting the dance floor to Burnt Sienna were: Glaceau’s Lauren Pomponio, Greater Washington Sports Alliance’s Keri Ann Meslar, CW Reality TV’s Katherine Kennedy, Clarke Consulting’s Carissa Maguire and Vets for Freedom’s Judy Maka.

Honorary host MicroStrategy’s Mike Saylor took a break from the blackjack table to chat with event chair Ashley Taylor, manager of Georgetown‘s Ann Hand. Wasn’t he in our issue last week?

We caught up with the evening’s other co-chair, Portfolio Logic’s Winston Lord, at the official after-party at The City Tavern Club, where he rocked with friend Natalia Pinto. Wait – he was in our issue last week, too! Do these guys party every night? (We hope so!)

We snapped this Friday night of Mclean Capital’s Dendy Young, trying the recommendation of Central’s new wine guru, David Hale, who just came over from Citronelle.

Also Friday night, we were at the Wizards game to watch the Nuggets beat usit wasn’t the outcome we’d hoped for, but we were pumped to see a packed house

Macallans at Morton’s

Macallans teamed with Morton’s to teach us how to drink Scotch on Thursday and Friday nights. We were there as brand ambassador Graeme Russell shared tasting secrets with the restaurant’s GM Dave Crane and the Scottish Government Counsellor, Robin Naysmith.

Robin granted Scottish citizenship for the night to National League of Cities’ Carlos Beccerra and Kate Sandel, Where editor Corinne Whiting, and Morton’s Anthony Hesselius.

Realtor Kim Lillywhite and Indebleu’s Mikey Smith discovered that although Scotch served neat is tasty, adding a drop of water opens it up and makes it oh-so-smooth.

After the dessert pairing with Macallan 21, the lesson in Scotch tasting was deemed complete by United Way’s James van der Klok and Frances Melson, PR maven Linda Roth, Beveridge & Diamond’s Karl Bourdeau, consultant Silvestro Conte, and Bruce Rosen.

Valentine’s Plans?

We took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday and went to Georgetown’s Tony and Joe’s, the restaurant voted on AOL as #1 for Best Singles Scene. Above, owner Dean Cibel, Tony’s son, here with his world-class omelet maker, Danny McCarthy, who’s preparing the popular Sunday Jazz Brunch. We enjoyed a picturesque Potomac view with the buffet, champagne and mimosas. BTW, Dean is living proof that it’s the perfect place for Valentine’s Day: He met his wife, Maria, at the restaurant when she was a hostess.
