The Washington Humane Society hosted its First Annual Winter Wag-a-Thon at Energy+Light+Control in Georgetown Saturday afternoon. Pam Townsend displays her books Black is Beautiful and A is for Angel that she donated as a door prize set, while guests also enjoyed a silent auction, adoptable dogs, and a special lunch by Sâuçá.

Ronald McDonald Goes Green!

We went to the ribbon cutting of the first LEED certified Ronald McDonald House on the East Coast Friday. It will provide housing for 26 families of seriously ill children being treated here. With Ronald, we snapped capital campaign co-chairs Virginia Pediatric Association's Dorinda Burroughs and husband Reed Smith's Benton Burroughs, whose firm provided all the legal work pro bono.

Guests munched on chicken dumplings in sesame sauce, sweet potato biscuits with ham, and assorted mousse cups with their virgin mimosas. Non Stop Bhangra took place Saturday night at Rosslyn’s new Artisphere. Described as Bollywood meets Nightclub Scene, as DJ Jimmy Love spun Bhangra  beats, Dholrhythms Dance Company helped dancers learn the right moves.
