Becky and Maxwell!

We salute Becky's Fund! To raise domestic violence awareness, it's hosting an incredible pool runway show. Big names like Clinton Portis and Lindsay Czarniak. Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6pm, at the Liason. Read their backstory below, then join the party!

We sat down last week to talk to Becky Lee. You might recognize her as a Survivor finalist; she used her third place earnings to raise awareness of domestic violence.

An attorney, Becky has dedicated herself to creating public support for victims of abuse through her non-profit, Becky’s Fund.

1st & Fresh

Standing: Cowboi, Jenny Guzman, Brad Virata; sitting: Survivor: Cook Islands winner Yul Kwon, and Becky. She tells us the next Becky’s Fund fundraiser is tomorrow, a fashion show at the Liaison. It’ll feature DC’s first over-the-pool runway show, with hosts Lindsay Czarniak, Clinton Portis, and Jason Campbell. Tickets are still available.

We went to a pre-party at Midtown Loft for tomorrow’s fundraiser and snapped Shana Schwartz, Megadata Technology’s Armon D. Harris, Becky Lee, and menswear designer Matt Lansberg.

TasteDC.com’s Charlie Adler, FOX5’s Katy Adams, and marketing strategist Ike Nwaneri.

R&B sensation Maxwell was in town this weekend for his concert at Verizon Center. We snapped him at Oya, where actor Jeffrey Wright hosted a Black Summer’s Night on an Autumn Afternoon fundraiser to benefit the Taia Peace Foundation.

Maxwell said he supports charities that empower communities. Taia is working to rebuild Sierra Leone. Here: Christina Finkenhofer and USDA’s Natasha Williams.

Honoring Women!

Rachael’s Women’s Center celebrated its 30th anniversary Thursday night with a fundraiser for services and support for DC area women. We snapped emcee ABC7 anchorwoman Maureen Bunyan with DC mayoral candidate Leo Alexander.

Rachael’s board member, the Midtown Group’s Michele Conley, is flanked by Mark Eigenbode and his wife Helen Stefan Moreau.

Cool Entrepreneur!

Congrats to our Elliott Bisnow, named by Inc. Magazine one of "America's Coolest Young Entrepreneurs." Elliott ranked nineteenth in the publication's 30 Under 30 list for creating the Summit Series, a community of successful young entrepreneurs who meet to exchange ideas, network, and raise money for charitable causes. We snapped this of Elliott last month in Nicaragua where he delivered 200 pounds of school supplies donated by Staples.
