Antiques & Inauguration Fashion Show!

Last night we went to the preview party for the Washington Winter Antiques and Fine Arts Show (WWS) at AU’s Katzen Art Center.

The show's theme is The Thrill of the Chase: Antiques of the Sporting Life; it features antique and vintage furniture, art, jewelry, and books. We snapped Credit Suisse’s Osmar Abib, his wife Kathy, and WWS’s Diplomatic Chair, French Ambassador Francois Delattre.
The show, which runs all weekend, showcases 45 premier dealers from the US and Europe. We liked a one-of-kind sterling table centerpiece, commissioned by Alfred Vanderbilt in 1910. Here, WWS co-chair Mason Bavin is flanked by Bob Baldwin and Carol Sommerville, and by Anne Cobb and Anne Baldwin.
The Preview Night kicked off a weekend of activities: luncheon, book signings, guided walks, and Jazz Night. Here, WWS Luncheon co-chair Peggy Holland, trustee Mary Jane Leitch, Luncheon committee member Kitty Dove, and PR exec Carolyne Hyde.
The Show was founded in 2009 and raises funds for local charities; this year’s include THEARC, Bishop Walker School for Boys, and St. John’s Community Services. Here, Gibson Dunn’s Chuck Muckenfuss, his wife Angela Lancaster, WWS spokesperson Helen Burnett Sessions, and her husband Lee Sessions.

Inauguration!

It’s starting! Last night we also went to Macy’s Metro Center for its celebration of Inauguration 2013. We snapped the runway show’s local celeb models WUSA9’s Leigh Inman Macdonald and B&C Custom Clothiers’ Sim Khan (in white and blue) with SLA Management’s Steph Anderson, and Justice Dept’s Lamont Easter.
Customers attended a special runway fashion-show featuring DC’s most stylish men and women in hot trends of the season, providing inspiration for inauguration galas. Here, The Citadel Firm’s Reuben Charles, The Enterprises’ Michael Melton, and Donald Sumner.

Carnelian Boutique’s Corinne Marr and DC Funployment’s Morgan Fykes flank Drawoh Llewmorc Omnimedia’s Howard Cromwell Jr.

Local style expert and the event’s host Kara Allan (on left with microphone) introduces iCosmeticNetwork.com’s 'Leia Warren.

Merjan Bubernack and Alfredo Flores contributed to this issue.
