Harman Gala, Synetic Vampires & Halloween!

Coming to DAR Constitution Hall on Nov. 28, GLEN HANSARD with special guest RICHARD THOMPSON. Tickets on sale now.

Last night we went to the 2015 Harman Center for the Arts Gala to celebrate theater, Shakespeare and Helen Mirren.

We snapped the night's special guest, Academy and Tony Award-winning actress, Dame Helen Mirren, surrounded by Drs. Linda and Robert Stillman and by STC Board Member Bob Falb and his wife, Carolyn. The theme of the annual black-tie event was Imagine: Shakespeare.

At the VIP cocktail reception: gala committee and STC Board members Meg and John Hauge with Lisa and Steve Ryan. We enjoyed prosecco and ahi tuna tartare.

The performance featured Broadway singers, dancers and renowned opera singers. Here, gala leadership group members Marla Allard and her husband, Brooklyn Law School dean Nick Allard, and gala committee member Pauline Schneider.

After the performance, guests headed to the National Building Museum for dinner and dancing. Here, Georgetown Law's Jeff Bauman, patrons Moira and Josh CarinJudy Jablow, her husband, Levine School of Music CEO Peter Jablow, with patron Linda Fienberg

Vampire's Ball!

We celebrated Halloween eve at the Synetic Theater's Annual Vampire's Ball. The evening started with a very entertaining and gothic take on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and concluded with dancing, open bar and a costume contest. Here, OMB's Noah Mann, the gov's Chelsea Coffin, FHA's Michael Nesbitt, AFT's Chelsea Prax, and Vietnam Veterans of Americas' Micah Lemons.

Oversized playing cards and poker chips hung from the ceiling and red and black décor filled the theater's lobby. Guests enjoyed classic Halloween candy and snacks as well as wine and mad punch. Here, FDA's Brianna Lehner, Kastle Systems' Ellen Beste, NORC's Gagan Jindal, and nanny Trisha Eggerton.

There were skeletons, vampires and all sorts of creatures. Our fave: Synetic Theater's own Lauren Brown. She's surrounded by DOL's Laura Givens, DOJ's Joe Plese, and by Synetic Theater's Nathan Weinberger and Au Bon Pain's Tim Neilson.

Obsidian Analysis' Brookes Clemmons and Shashay Tadesse surround Association for Talent Development's Olivia Clemmons.
