Executive Insights: 15 Things You Didn't Know About These CEOs

How Is Healthcare Retail Affecting the Medical Office Market?

These CEOs run some of the biggest companies in the industry, but they're more than ROI and employee hires. We learned more about the inner workings and personal flair of the execs spearheading Granite, Monogram, Boxer and HKS.

Monogram Residential Trust CEO Mark Alfieri

2016 Goals: Grow the company, increase our exposure to our core markets and deliver results in the top quartile of our peer group

Current Strategy/Deal Flow: Primarily focused on new development. We would like to reduce our exposure to non-coastal markets.

Market Insight: Fundamentals remain very strong. Homeownership is the primary metric to watch. If it continues to decline, 2016 will be another banner year. If it increases, you will have decelerating growth.

Bullish on: Coastal markets

Market Insight: We are at the point of the cycle where everyone asks “what part of the cycle are we in?”

Bullish on: USA

Favorite Food: Ahi Tuna

Last Vacation: Colorado mountains

Kids: Two fantastic boys ages 21 and 17

Market Insight: The market looks very strong for the next 12 months, beyond that it's hard to predict. The economy can be tenuous and we need to stay nimble in order to quickly respond to changes.

The Centrum's Amazing New Look

Cubicles be gone—the search for office space is now trending younger, and that means more collaborative, creative space. If that space doesn't comply, it needs to get with the program or remain empty (or withering). Quadrant Investment Properties founder Chad Cook says that his company is focused on finding office buildings that can be redeveloped into something more awesome. Case in point: The Centrum (3102 Oak Lawn, 2.6 acres at the northeast corner of Oak Lawn Avenue and Cedar Springs Road) offers deep floor plates and high ceilings as well as multiple on-site amenities, all of which are ideal for creative office space users. The renovations include a redesigned lobby and outdoor courtyards and the addition of rooftop decks and multiple food concepts. Other additions include updates to the common areas and parking garage, and a spec suite program. Chad says the collaboration with architects Merriman & Associates (exteriors) and Entos (interiors) have been very rewarding, as we can see in The Centrum's new look. Get more information on our Bisnow partner, Quadrant Investment Properties, and take a closer look at The Centrum.
