Crushing It!

1100 have signed up to find out about the future of Tysons Corner and the Dulles Corridor tomorrow at the Tysons Ritz. And there's still time to join, a who's-who of real estate pros. Sign up now!

Last night we attended the first Blue Crush Summer Celebration to Crush Colon Cancer at new Adams Morgan strength and yoga center STROGA, hosted by Chris4Life Foundation, in partnership with The Pink Line Project and Pamela's Punch.

Chris4Life was founded by Michael Sapienza in honor of his mother, who lost her battle to the disease, to eliminate colon cancer and use the arts to aid in the healing process. He's flanked by Spotted MP'S Maurisa Turner Potts and Pink Line Project founder Philippa Hughes.

The event featured performances by Christylez Bacon, the City Dance Ensemble, and indie-rock band The Four Horsemen. Here, Jones Lang LaSalle's Marybeth Coleman, Ann Hand's Ashley Taylor, Bloomingdale's Heather Guay and Washington Humane Society's Tara de Nicolas.

Sponsor Mash-Pit provides on-site medical care at events and concerts to ensure the safety (and fun) of partygoers; from Mash-pit: Jim Faris, Meia Raboteau and Analena Valdes Graham

Meet our Sponsor: Urban Igloo!

The apartment finders at Urban Igloo have one question: Do you want to rent your condo or apartment? They tell us that posting on sites like Craigslist is great if you don't have to work around a full-time job and social life to schedule viewings, fill out paperwork, and conduct background checks. The Urban Igloo experts will meet with you face-to-face, schedule and host viewings, and provide vetted, ready-to-move-in renters, saving you valuable time and stress. Plus, it's fast and you pay only if the renter moves in. Get started now.

Potenza!

We stopped downtown by Potenza, one of our favorite Italian restaurants, to check out its new summer menu, which pairs savory treats with wines. Marco is holding figs wrapped in gorgonzola and pancetta; he's with Karen Corbin, who's COO of the House on F Street, which owns the Spy Museum and Stir Food Group (which owns Potenza), and Stir VP Ralph Rosenberg.

Congrats!

The Navy celebrated the 2009 Sailors of the Year and, for the first time, all four, chosen from 250,000 applicants, were women. One of the Navy's most prestigious awards, it resulted in promotions to chief petty officer during a ceremony at the U.S. Navy Memorial for Chief Hospital Corpsman HM1 Ingrid Cortez, Chief Operations Specialist Samira McBride, Chief Hospital Corpsman Shalanda Brewer, and Chief Cryptologic Technician Cassandra Foote.

Seth!

We went to hear well-known motivational speaker, marketing genius, and futurist Seth Godin speak at the Warner Theater. We learned companies must choose between two competing worldviews: Grow The Firm and Don't Screw Up. He said to choose the former and not worry about the latter. Avoid becoming big and average; stay small and exceptional.

The American Marketing Association facilitated the event. Here are its members; new prez Christie Susko is behind Seth and copies of his new book, Linchpin.. He said the internet is best used to communicate; look at successes like Facebook, Twitter, eBay (and, of course, Bisnow!).

Vanessa Meccarielli and Kristina D'Ambrosio contributed to this issue.
