Gatsby!

Check out an amazing open house this weekend for The Chase at Bethesda. Learn about getting $30,000 off 2-Bedroom Condos with Fireplaces. Info

Last night, we went to the world premiere of The Great Gatsby, by The Washington Ballet at the Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater. All we can say is: WOW!

Artistic Director Septime Webre, who created the ballet (including libretto, score, and choreography), told the audience that he’s been working on it for over a year. The Great Gatsby is based on the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald; we predict it will become as classic in ballet. Here, Morgann Frederick, Corey Landolt, and Amanda Cobb.

Dance companies rarely produce full-length ballets from scratch, but the $500,000 effort paid off: Septime told us Gatsby has already become the best selling ballet in the history of The Washington Ballet! Above, Elizabeth Gaither (as Daisy Buchanan) points to Jared Nelson (who plays Jay Gatsby). Thanks to Carol Pratt for the photos.

1st & Fresh - in-text

Just before the ballet, outside the theater, we snapped Sharon Bradley, Cindy Jones, Amy Baier, Jamie Dorros, and Carole Margaret Randolph

More ballet enthusiasts: Roxana Jordan, Sarah Stettinius, Ann Kaye, Brady Arundel, Sarah Steinberg, and Diana Reynolds.

Pink Fashion!

We went downtown to Long View Gallery to join Pink Jams and the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce for their Pink Fashion Rocks runway show Wednesday night. Betsey Johnson, a breast cancer survivor herself, along with 14 other local DC designers rocked the runway with some of their hottest pink designs.

A few of the models after the show. All proceeds went to Pink Jams, Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and the DC Fashion Foundation.
