Fun Before the Snow!

It's almost over. Though cancelled tonight, it's still on tomorrow. We're co-hosting closing night of Crystal City BID's Crystal Couture, but check the website before you come. You thought model men were cool? Try snow men. Hope to see you there! Info

Last night we headed downtown to the W Hotel for a W Happening, a charitable pre-Valentine’s Day party it sponsored with Hanky Panky, raising funds for Becky’s Fund to prevent domestic violence

Each woman received a complimentary pair of Hanky Panky thongs that could be bedazzled with monograms or shapes. Former Skins cheerleader Annabel Delacerna, Skinfinity owner Kelley Cornwell, Skins cheerleader marketing director Melanie Coburn, and medical sales rep Lisa Caligiuri threatened to break our camera by firing their personalized Hanky Pankys.

Booz Allen’s Lucas Tomlinson and Phil Wellington surround Becky’s Fund founder Becky Lee, pharmaceutical rep Lauren Labra, and Susan Hernandez, who just returned from her home town of Acapulco.

National Geographic Channel’s Sara Babiarz, American Red Cross’s Sarah Coe and Stephanie Fontenot.

Artist Loly Amons, daughter of Mary Amons—rumored to be on the cast of Real Housewives of Washington DC—and Rep Darrell Issa’s press secretary Seamus Kraft.

Fashion!

It was cold outside but hot inside day four of packed Crystal Couture. In addition to chic runway shows, we can’t get enough of the body art. We snapped models Tre Gayles and Jamel Newby.

Tyiis Glenn, Traie Sutton, and Corey Saba in the night’s fave designer, Hido. The gals in the office hope somebody wears this to the next Bisnow Schmoozarama.

Lierac Paris provided mini facials and skin care consultations. Personal trainer Jennett Delgado, designer Natalia Sanz, case manager Brenda Delgado, fashion merchandiser Mary Richardson, and Studio 365’s Judy Herrera.

Art!

The traffic couldn’t stop us as we kicked off pre-Valentine celebrations with an art-filled evening at The Phillips Collection. Guests enjoyed champagne and Brazilian tapas from chef Andrew Holden of FoodArts. ConsiliAgra’s Sally Bell, Capital Source’s Stacy Sweet, and Georgetown Day School’s Kristen Farman.

Poet Shani Jamila recited Georgia O’Keeffe’s letters to her husband, Alfred Stieglitz, accompanied by violinist Matthew Hemerlein and DJ Adrian Loving. Here, Kaiser Permanente’s Kim Tetrault, T-Mobile’s Karen Kanis, attorney Laura Handle, Covington & Burling’s Shara Boonshaft, and DHS’ Alice Hong.

Networking!

We were excited to learn that our mention in Where to Be Scene drove lots of people to the Hyatt Regency- Reston Town Center last Thursday evening for the launch of networking happy hour Work It, Girls! (& Guys). Its founder Teresa Young (right) is here with Fairfax County Public Schools’ Zeina Hamad.

Madeleine Starkey and Kristina D’Ambrosio contributed to this issue.
