Tasting Success!
| |
We went to the second annual Taste of Success, a food and wine-tasting event hosted at Jones Day’s office overlooking the Capitol on Tuesday night. It recognized the accomplishments of rising business leaders who volunteer with StreetWise Partners to help low-income adults find jobs and economic stability. Alutiiq’s Shanna Torrey and Hill staffer Connie Kemper say the key to the night’s success was the guacamole, but we loved the pasta with crab.
| |
| The honorary guest was Corporate Executive Board CEO Thomas Monahan (right). He’s here with the Washington Post’s Avis Thomas-Lesser (in red) and StreetWise Partners Alan Landis, Sahar Batmanghelidj, Allison Devore, and Angie Jusino. |
| |
StreetWise volunteers mentor low-income individuals so they can develop skills and networks for a successful career. FTI’s Sara Shangraw, the Administration’s Caroline Hughes, and CEB’s Brittany Peterson were on the balcony.

Meet our Sponsor: Dr. Eric Desman at VCPS
| |
When picking a plastic surgeon, you want someone who does good work, but you also want a doctor who’ll make sure you’re totally comfortable with procedures you’re getting. Dr. Eric Desman of Alexandria’s Virginia Center for Plastic Surgery was named in Top Surgeons 2009, in addition to the 2008 and 2009 Best of Alexandria.
When you visit Dr. Desman’s office, you’ll have the pleasure of meeting VCPS receptionist Ericka Neal, practice administrator Kelley Garrett and, of course, Dr. Desman.
| |
Dr. Desman graduated from Duke University and Philadelphia’s Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency in plastic surgery at NY’s Albany Medical Center. Since he started VCPS in 1999, he’s dedicated himself and his practice to providing the best cosmetic surgical care. Currently, the most popular procedure at VCPS is breast augmentation, but Dr. D tells us to stay tuned for a new procedure: the liquid facelift.
| |
Dr. Desman hosts parties at his office to keep current and potential patients in the loop. Last week, patients and friends came to his Bobbin’ for Booo-tox party at which guests tricked their wrinkles, treated themselves to Halloween discounts on procedures, or just enjoyed the food and conversation. Pesky fine lines? Sag where you’d rather not? Call VCPS at 703.924.3144 to set up a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation with Dr. Desman.
