Eco Beauty!

Your chance to learn the ins-and-outs of triathlons is Thursday, May 21, 7pm, at 2000 M Street, Suite 520. Meet Nation's Triathlon founder Chuck Brodsky, Margaret Connor, and Team in Training, for an "Ask The Experts" panel. The only way into the race is through TNT. Call 703-399-2942.

EarthEcho's Philippe Cousteau co-hosted a luncheon on Saturday with eco-friendly beauty company Chantecaille at Neiman Marcus in Chevy Chase. Surprisingly, not everyone was wearing green.

Philippe, here with Olivia and Alex Chantecaille and EarthEcho's Jan Cousteau, discussed the company's work with marine conservation and endangered animal protection.

New Ballpark Bar!

Restaurateur Bo Blair is at it again, improving DC nightlife and making sure the Half Street area around Nationals Park won't remain a ghost town. His latest venue: The Bullpen. The man famous for Smith Point, opened the bar/game/music joint on Friday night. Perseus Realty's Josh Overbay, Stroud Entertainment's Lindsay Stroud, and Politico Alpha's Andy Taylor helped break it in.

The Bullpen opens two hours before each Nats game with a beer garden, outdoor games, and a stage for live bands. Julie Battle, and Ruthie Beckler enjoyed live entertainment from Miles Midnight vocalist Matt Corrado.

We hope to snap lots of pics this summer, and University of Maryland students Rob Goldberg and Jessica Monaldo served as perfect models. More good news: the venue is available for private parties.

Taste of Arlington!

We joined a record 15,000 local foodies Sunday afternoon in Ballston, as top Arlington restaurants showcased culinary masterpieces, or just their famous good ol' chicken wings. Willow Restaurant took home "Best of the Best." Above, Grand Cru wine bar and Euro Cafe's Troy and Lena Thorpe, Chris Royal, Arielle DeSourey, Max Pena, and Chris Hagstrom share samples from their store's selection of over 450 different wines. Now if only someone remembered the corkscrew.

The event benefited Community Residences, helping people with disabilities live independently. We snapped the event's leadership committee: (back) Ballston-Virginia Square Partnership's Julie Martin Mangis, Clarendon Alliance's Susan Anderson, Columbia Pike Revitalization's Jim Whittaker and Pam Holcomb, and Rosslyn Renaissance's Monique O' Grady. (Front) Taste of Arlington director Maurisa Turner Potts, Rosslyn Renaissance's Laura Corridon, and Ballston-Virginia Square Partnership's Sara Abramson.
