CAPS!

LAST CALL! Our big conference of the season! Join 500 top business colleagues for all star speakers identifying local business opportunities after Obama’s first 100 days. This Thursday morning, National Press Club. Don’t miss it. Sign up now!

We joined thousands at the Verizon Center, which was packed and dressed in red last night. What better way for Caps rookie power goalie Simeon Varlamov to celebrate his 21st birthday than a Game Seven win to end the series!

We snapped this at the end of the thrilling game. Thanks to Sergei Federov's goal with less than five minutes left, the Caps go to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 1998.

We play Pittsburgh at 1:00 this Saturday at home! See you there!

Honoring Tim!

We also joined hundreds of guests last night at the JW Marriott to celebrate the life of Tim Russert. What had been planned as a celebration of the achievements of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater DC also became a memorial dinner for Tim. Here: Luke Russert and MSNBC Live anchor Norah O’Donnell.

The Tim Russert All About the Kids Award was presented to NBC president Jeff Zucker by young Ahmad Spence, who so wowed the crowd that Zucker offered him a job with NBC. (He’s already given Leno 10PM every night. What’s left?)

Fashionably Fit!

Last night we also went to the Darlington House to get some tips at a fashion seminar. We learned that the key to building a good wardrobe is to start with 10 core pieces. We wonder if this means we have to clean out our closet? Here: Stephanie Crane and WashingtonPost.com’s Carla Ligon.

Terra Effortless Style’s Oriana Khatso and Darlington House owner Patricia Beggiato told attendees how to be chic.

Non-profit Super Stars!

We stopped by DC’s award winning Woolly Mammoth Theatre on Monday night to help The Meyer Foundation celebrate five visionary non-profit leaders at The Exponent Awards: Life Pieces to Masterpieces’ Mary Brown, Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County’s Steve Galen, NPower Greater DC region’s Julie Chapman, Urban Alliance Foundation’s Veronica Nolan, and Cultural Development Corporation’s Anne Corbett.

WJLA Channel 7’s Abby Fenton with The Corcoran’s COO Sam Sweet and DC Chamber of Commerce president Barbara Lang.

ExxonMobil’s Patrick Dexter, ACT’s Joelle Stachura Wallmeyer, and The Bruhn Morris Family Foundation’s Lori Morris.
