Fashion and Food

This is not an April Fool's Joke! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a judge at the finals to pick the next Washington Redskins Cheerleaders this Sunday. Stay tuned for a contest in tomorrow's issue. The winner will help choose the First Ladies of Football. And even if you don't win, you can watch; see Where to be Scene below for details.

Last night we hit the gym for fashion, fun, and a great cause.

We joined Suited for Change at Sports Club/LA, where local fashionistas modeled the latest from fitness brand Lululemon. We snapped this of Mistress of Ceremonies, WUSA 9 traffic anchor Angie Goff, and Ask Miss A's Andrea Rodgers.

Suited for Change helps low income women prepare for job interviews and get appropriate clothes to wear. Here: photographer Kamari Wheeler and T.H.E Artist Agency's Anna VanMeter.

Donors included City Shop Girl's Kelly Collis Frederick, Long & Foster's Eva Kennedy and Little Black Dress' Jenny Holzer. Suited for Change outfitted its 15,000th woman with career wear.

The models: Front, Capitol B's Barbara Saylor, teacher Shannon Portillo, and Andrea Rodgers; back, Crystal City BIDs's Angie Fox, Single Tees co-founder Tamera Lawrence, and Aimee Bosse, Julia Karpov (getting ready for the Boston Marathon), naval officer Jessica Andrews, prosecutor Linda Monroe, and holistic health counselor Jennifer Howe.

Teatro Goldoni!

We sampled the chef's table yesterday with TV producer Rich Massabny and Teatro Goldoni owner Michael Kosmides. In the 18 months since Michael and his partner Jose Garcia took over the K Street restaurant, Teatro's become the place to go downtown for contemporary Italian fare. Word on the street is he's opening a new restaurant at 19th and I featuring Mediterranean fusion.

Under Chef Enzo Fargione, Teatro's grabbed the attention of visiting celebs like Russell Crowe and Fran Drescher, as well as Esquire and Forbes. We liked the applewood smoked branzino carpaccio and creamy fontina risotto garnished with black truffles, and can't wait for the new restaurant.

Tossed and Found!

The Junior League of Washington's Preview Night at the Shops at Crystal City on Friday was the start of a fashion-filled weekend. Queen Bee designs' Allison Priebe Brooks, Fox 5 news reporter Hollis Morris, who filmed a segment for her morning show, and The Scene Bisnow reporter Makeda Saggau-Sackey with their finds.

Hundreds of Washingtonians came out for great bargains on "previously loved" clothing, artwork, furniture, and accessories, including Allison Priebe Brooks, Elizabeth Fawn Slack Pignatello, Bridget Sullivan Teter, Local Kicks' Susanne Day Seidman, and Junior Leaguer Cheryl Romero.
