| Well, if the world has to have The Bomb, thank goodness there’s a regulatory commission and it’s located here. This morning we braved the rain to attend the groundbreaking of a consolidated 362k 14-story NRC near the White Flint Metro, due to deliver Nov '12. |

| Designed by HOK at LEED Silver and developed by LCOR for 1500 employees, no wonder all kinds of politicians were present: Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, Maryland DOT’s Beverly Swaim-Staley, Metro’s Peter Benjamin, Ohio Senator George Voinovich, LCOR’s Bill Hard, USAA CEO Pat Duncan, Delaware Seantor Thomas Carper, GSA’s Victoria Hartke, and NRC Chairman Gregory Jaczko. |

| SOLD! |

 |
| Yesterday we snapped Washington Harbour, otherwise known as 3000 and 3050 K Street in G’Town. As we reported in March, Prudential put the office buildings (the attached condos weren’t included) on the market amid strong interest. Though MRP declines to comment, everyone else seems to know it’s buying the place for $240 million, $20M more than Prudential paid six years ago. Law firms Kelly Drye and Foley & Lardner are the main tenants. |

| RAISING KANE |
| |
 |
| Our friends at Kane Construction got a 112k SF commission to build out five floors of Booz Allen’s 135k SF auxiliary building at 575 Herndon Parkway, due for July. There’ll be new mechanical, fitout, and finishes, designed by HOK. |

| MEET OUR SPONSOR: CREW DC |
| |
 |
| The DC chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women is now the second largest of 71 in North America (just five years ago it was 10th) with 300 members. Another feather in its cap: DC will host the 2011 national CREW Convention from Sept. 14-17. A trio of CREW presidents Bethany Allen, Kathryn Ciliberti, and Jeanne LaBelle (prez-elect, current and past, respectively) tells us this means a great opportunity to highlight local projects. This CREW network today includes 8,000 members and is a strong resource for not only current real estate pros (Kathryn tells us there’s no such thing as a cold call in CREW), but those aspiring to break into the industry. Recently, CREW has been accepting student members and pairing them with more experienced mentors. Another area of growth: CREW committees, which have 60% member participation. |

| CREW DC’s Bonnie Flippin and CREW NoVa’s prez-elect Nancy Payne at last week’s CREW National Capital Region Golf Tourney at Reston National. CREW maintains an active slate of events including monthly luncheons and more intimate, focused roundtables. Coming up May 19 is a luncheon featuring Washingtonian’s Leslie Milk moderating a panel of DC power women, including Wendy White of Pillsbury, Janet Davis of Brandywine, and Linda Rabbitt of Rand. | EATING FOR ARLINGTON |
| |
 |
| What we won’t do for our readers. Your publisher agreed to be a celebrity judge (the definition of celebrity is obviously pretty loose) yesterday at the 27th annual Taste of Arlington, where our duty was to try appetizers, entrées, and desserts from 40 different restaurants. No, we’re not in this picture, because we had to take the picture, and also if we didn’t stand up we were afraid we were going to keel over at the table due to overconsumption. |
| |
 |
| We ran into the Bozzuto team a few booths away, telling about their property management at nearby Arlington properties like Market Commons, Siena Park off Columbi Pike, and 220 20th in Crystal City: Matt Allan, Jessica McElhinny, Frank Polito, Claire Kase, and Joel Regignano. |
| |
 |
| And Clark is not only working on working on 800 and 900 Glebe Rd, Founder’s Square, and Clarendon Center, but managed the trash recycling yesterday, thanks to Phil Gardiner, Mike Kuklinski, Robbie Roberts, Brian Benaghan, Jeff King, and Kyle Kwiatkowski. |
