| Patriots Plaza III in SW yesterday got the largest DC lease of 2009 that wasn’t a renewal: 330k SF from (wait for it…) the GSA, on behalf of USDA. |

At Mackey’s Irish Pub at 18th and L toasting the signed contract: Trammell Crow’s Tom Finan, right, who oversees development and leasing for the project, with Jones Lang’s Chad Habeeb, who with colleague Bill Craig represented GSA.

This is the one million square foot Patriots Plaza. Ag will move in a year from now, consolidating five locations in DC and Nova. Patriots III, finished in September, is owned by MEPT, a $4.3 billion real estate equity fund owned by 331 pension plans. The building has features like blast resistant glass, progressive collapse avoidance, and hardened structure and façade. It’s pre-certified LEED Silver, applying for Gold. MEPT also owns Patriots Plaza I, 280k feet finished in 2005 and leased to five US agencies; and Patriots Plaza II, 321k SF also finished in September and available for lease.

Princely Thanksgiving
| |
We snapped this yesterday at the Pentagon City Ritz after a Board of Trade session featuring Prince George’s County Economic Development Corp. CEO Kwasi Holman, right, who tells us the county is expecting three to four new companies to arrive soon and is “about to release new incentives.” He’s going to be enjoying his mom’s incredible recipe for pecan sweet potato over Thanksgiving, then going to work it off down in Williamsburg. With him, HSBC SVP Orville Smith and ProLogis local chief Mark Levy.

MORE ON OUR SPONSOR: ING’S PARK TOWER
| |
At great expense and risk, Bisnow sprung for a helicopter to fly over Park Tower at 2980 Fairview Park, to give our readers a birds’ eye view of one of NoVa’s most incredible trophies. Oh, wait a minute, this is just a cardboard scale model sitting in the marketing center there. Well, we would have rented a helicopter if necessary.

On the other hand, this is no fake Photoshopped picture but one we snapped this week of the picture perfect lobby. Verizon owned and occupied the building for 16 years and sold it two years ago to ING Clarion, which spent the last year dramatically rejuvenating it.
