Charity in Chocolate!


Join us tomorrow at the National Building Museum to celebrate SneakerBall's 10th anniversary on September 10, celebrating the best in DC sports. Benefits The Special Olympics and The Greater Washington Sports Alliance Foundation. Attire: Black-tie and sneakers only. RSVP here.

Friday night we went to the Mandarin Oriental for the annual Charity in Chocolate.

The night raised funds for the Heart of America foundation. We snapped ABC 7 anchors Scott Thuman, Abby Fenton, and Jummy Olabanji with Lagardere's LaRhonda Burley.

Blondes vs. Brunettes!

Saturday we went to the Blondes vs. Brunettes Draft Party at George to learn who made the team, as they released the rosters. We snapped Team Blonde captains Deloitte's Katie Welsh, Monument Realty's Lindsay Fry, with NIH's Kiersten Bugge.

Blondes vs. Brunettes increases awareness among young people of Alzheimer's disease while raising funds for the local chapter. Here, Team Brunette captain Tina Burton (who works at MidCap Financial) is flanked by Bethany Watson, and Jessie Bourland.

Each fall—this year Nov. 16—the powder puff football game raises funds for the Alzheimer's Association; since 2005, $150,000 in DC and $1,000,000 nationally. The coaches: Robert Powell, Advantage SCI's Jared Fowler, and KPMG's Omar Aziz.


Rock 'n' Roar!

Friday night we headed to the National Zoo for Friends of the National Zoo's Rock-N-Roar, with an acoustic performance by O.A.R.'s Marc Roberge and Richard On. We snapped their fans, Michelle Miller, Bethlehem Catholic's Rebecca Houk, and LoveLaughOAR's Lauren Miller.

The night was run entirely by FONZ volunteers, including Rebecca Maddage, Paul Shedlarski, and Molly Zechar, to raise money for programs at the Zoo.

At the VIP reception, we snapped general contractor Matt Eyster, his wife Holly, jewelers Jim and Noreen Shenk, and Dept. of the Interior's Greg and Lori Ruderman.
