Calm Before the Storm!

We went to the Four Seasons Friday night for theatreWashington’s Star Gala celebrating theatre in a town whose scene is second only to New York.
H.B. Duntz and daughter Juliette Rappaport—relatives of theatre legend Helen Hayes—added a last-minute surprise auction item: the pin given to Helen when USC gave her an honorary degree. We snapped them with Kennedy Center VP Mickey Berra and DC councilman Tommy Wells.
Providence (Uncorked) Int
We loved the preview of Seussical during dinner. Here, the ladies in black: Cathie Scoville, Gail Isaac, Sylvia Greenburg (after whom AU’s theatre is named), BellaRose’s Brenda Brody, and AU’s Gail Humphries-Mardirosian.
There’s no escaping politics this close to November. We snapped DC council at-large hopeful David Grosso with Alexandria Mayor William Euille, up for re-election.

Blue Hope Bash!
We joined hundreds at the Park Hyatt to support colon cancer awareness with Chris4Hope, named for the disease's victim Christine Sapienza. The great silent auction raised over $90,000. We snapped William and Kristy Rodriguez with Chris4Life CEO Michael Sapienza.
“Lucky 13” award recipient John’s Hopkins’ Dr. Michael Choti was honored for his tireless work on colon cancer. He’s with his wife Carole and Eden Stotsky-Himelfarb.
At the Bisnow table, WTOP’s Bob Madigan, Capital Financial Partners Brandon Gulley, and i Ricchi chef/owner Chris Ricchi.

We joined over 700 shoppers over the weekend at the National Building Museum for the Smithsonian Women’s Committee’s Craft2Wear show. We snapped next year’s co-chair Betsy Beck bookended by.Georgetown’s Denise Keyes and Kathy Kretman.
NY designer Mina Norton is surrounded in her popular stall by principal Fran Nussle and teacher Ena-Laurie Kearns.
