The State of Tech in the I-270 Corridor

Biotech has rebounded from the recession faster than most other industries in Maryland and with about 8% of the biotech companies in the country based in Maryland, the future of Maryland’s tech scene is bright. Adding to the optimism is recent approval of plans to create a $10 billion, 17.5M SF “Science City” for bioscience research.

How do the top Maryland tech players envision the future of the I-270 tech corridor?  Where will future development occur? Where will companies focus their development & strategic efforts? How will federal and state government assist the sector’s growth?

Governor Martin O’Malley, recently named 2010 Governor of the Year by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, will keynote and will be preceded by an accomplished panel of legends including Norm Augustine, retired CEO of Lockheed Martin and for several decades one of the great voices of American technology, and David Mott, former CEO of MedImmune who sold the company for $15.6 billion to AstraZeneca. University of Maryland President Dan Mote and Clark School of Engineering Dean Darryll Pines will help preside.

As always, there will also be plenty of schmooze time!
